Expect perfection every time with this unbelievable beef. In line with our general “everything in small batches” approach, we raise only a few lowline black Angus at a time throughout the year. These animals enjoy high-quality grass each day as they graze our pastures, and premium alfalfa hay at night as they rest in their individual barn stalls.

Do we get attached to them? Yes – how could you not? But we also know they serve an important role in feeding our world, and we make every effort to ensure the best treatment for them while they’re growing.

How is a lowline Angus different? Only in its size and stature. Our cows finish at about half the size of a standard Angus, yielding about half the amount of freezer meat. Same cuts. Same variety. Everything is just sized to half.

Where did they come from? Full-blooded lowline Angus were imported to the U.S. from Scotland and Australia. There is a national registry and very active organization called the American Lowline Registry that supports and protects the integrity of this heritage breed.
